Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 developer Infinity Ward has announced that the playable beta for the next first-person shooter in the long-running franchise has been extended until 10pm PT tonight/1am ET tomorrow morning.
“A little more time on the clock,” the studio posted on its X account. We see you grinding out those Beta Rewards and camos, so we’re giving you some extra time. The #MW4 Open Beta is extended until 10 PM PT tonight. 2XP + Double Weapon XP stay active until close. Enjoy!”
Infinity Ward has already updated the beta, most recently to address TTK criticisms and tweak the weapons, but they also pushed changes out to beta testers last week as well.
It’s been an unusual beta this year in the sense that a fan-favorite character’s haircut has been the subject of some controversy, and the beta also included a single-player mission for the first time ever.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is due out on October 23 (although for those that preorder, you’ll get access to the campaign on October 16) for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2, though it won’t be included in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on day one this year.
